The Stranger – Billy Joel

This album was released in 1977 – who can believe that's almost 40 years ago!  Billy Joel was 28 at the time.

The best tracks were:

Movin' Out
The Stranger
Just The Way You Are
Only The Good Die Young
She's Always a Woman

Unlike many albums this one had more than 1 or 2 great tracks.

This was the first Billy Joel album to hit #1 on the charts.  I do think the album cover is a bit weird though.

  2. I listened to it while pregnant with our only child, she adores Billy Joel and lives in NYC and saw him often in many venues there..She feels he is the consummate entertainer, when she went to his concerts he really gave it his all, no one quite like him! The cover was creepy in my opinion but who cares nearly 40 years later he is just as great as in 1977! He is 65 now and he is in a class of his own, he had the last concert at Shea stadium before they tore it down and Sir Paul McCartney came on stage and other entertainers while Billy Joel performed a really awesome concert..wow whee, they don't have many like him anymore or will! ciao!
