I can't
remember how I heard about Paris Letters. But a big thank you to whoever posted about
it. There are a lot of memoirs about
people moving to France so I wasn't sure what to expect. But this was
different. It wasn't so much about Paris
– although the Paris Painted Letters that the author created did give you the
real atmosphere. These are reproduced in
black and white throughout the book.
No, the
most appealing thing was that it was about the author's internal journey from
being a busy hard driven office worker to shedding almost all her possessions
and moving to Paris and just hanging out.
There's a
love story too. But I highly recommend
this book to anyone who has a cluttered life – it will make you think. Off to do something about my wardrobes right
now!
Like the sound of this memoir. Always admire people who make radical changes like this.
ReplyDeletePinning this for later. Thanks, Carole!
ReplyDeleteNow this book sounds very good to me.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS for sharing.
That does sound interesting - and I like anything set in Paris...
ReplyDeleteAt first, I was disappointed that this was such a light, chick-lit kind of story, since I expected something that shared more of the author's challenges, I ended up really enjoying it. I thought it was a lot of fun and liked that it could be a good place for fans of chick-lit to jump into nonfiction if they were so inclined :)
ReplyDeleteJust ordered from our library! Thanks..need a light read!
ReplyDeleteI did read this book! It was quite entertaining. I've given the title/author for my daughter to read as well. Thanks for the post!!!
