Madurodam

Madurodam is in the Hague in the Netherlands.  I remember quite vividly visiting it as a child and being totally entranced by it.  It is a large miniature village.  There are perfect 1:2.5 scale models of buildings and landmarks of Holland.  It is fabulous that it is still operating.  It had its 60th anniversary in 2012.

There are miniature cars, railway, airport, windmills, canals – whatever you can imagine.  Even the trees are to scale.  It covers over 17000 square meters.

I would so like to see it again.  I'm sure I'd be just as keen as any child!
