Do you find
yourself struggling to make broccoli interesting? I know it's good for us but can get bored
with it.
I
experimented and came up with Broccoli
with Mustard and Sesame Seeds
I'd happily
do it again. I par boiled the broccoli
for 4-5 minutes, drained it and let it cool.
Then I patted it dry with kitchen paper towel.
Just before
eating I fried up some red onion with mustard seeds and sesame seeds. Don't get worried when the mustard seeds
start popping and hopping round the pan.
Add your
broccoli with salt and pepper to your taste into the pan and warm through.
The mustard and sesame combo sounds interesting! I often roast my broccoli in the oven with a little olive oil and S&P to get a more interesting texture! But, you're right…I have trouble getting out of the box with broccoli.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to freshen up broccoli!
ReplyDeleteMmmm. Sounds like a good combination to me, too, and so much better than just putting butter on the broccoli!
ReplyDeleteYes, this does sound like a good way to perk things up. I love broccoli but enjoy it more usually when someone else cooks it.

ReplyDeleteI love broccoli any way I can get it, even raw! I'm pinning this!
ReplyDeleteThat does sound good! I like roasted broccoli.
ReplyDeleteThis does sound good. Like Joy, I love roasted broccoli.
ReplyDeleteNever would have thought of sesame seeds. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteI like the sesame seed/mustard seed combo. I use that in a potato salad that I make.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. It's not always easy to make broccoli a little more interesting, but this sounds like a nice combo of flavours.
