Before
getting on to the new "library" for August, here are a few books that
caught my eye from the July edition
– these aren't the only good ones, of course!
To see all the books that were linked in, you can either go to the original post or to this Pinboard.
Astor
Place Vintage by
Stephanie Lehmann was reviewed by Bookalicious
Babe Book Reviews. Sue said "You will
quickly become caught up in Olive's life as Amanda reads her diary. You will
love Olive!"
Plain
Truth by
Jodi Picoult was reviewed by Rachael
Turns Pages. Rachael said "I
learned so much about Amish life while reading Plain Truth."
The
Rosie Project by
Graeme Simsion was reviewed by Jarrah
Jungle. Michelle said "This book is one of those ugly
ducklings turned into a swan type story where you're rooting for a happy
ending."
Gillespie
and I by
Jane Harris was reviewed by Roxploration. Rox said "Sometimes the best
reads can also be the hardest to write about and this novel falls into both
categories. All I can say is this is a dark faux Victorian thriller designed to
keep you gripped and keep you guessing."
The
Winter Palace by Eva Stachniak was reviewed by viewsofabookaddict. Pamela
said "Prepare yourself for a novel full of sumptuous historical detail,
friendship, hatred, love and betrayal"
Now
on to this month's collection. Linking
in is easy. Just put your name and the
name of the book that you loved into the first Mr Linky box below and copy the
url for your post into the second.
I'll
be pinning the links to this Pinboard.
There
were over 90 links last time. I wonder
how you will all go this time? It is
such fun reading about books that you loved.
Just uploaded my book

Hello again, Carole! I just added my link for this month - it didn't take the first time, but I'm persistent. :) Very rarely do I choose the first book I've read in the month as my Best Book of the Month, but "Bloodroot" by Amy Greene was the exception! :) Love this meme, such fun! :) See you next month, Carole! :)

ReplyDeleteAnd- Thanks for inviting me- love this idea and will be a regular here for sure:) All of these reviews here are fascinating as well!
ReplyDeleteOkay...That was really weird. I was running down the list of reviews and completely missed my own - which I remembered posting at the beginning of the month. So, thinking that I may have dreamed posting about my August Book of the Month, I did so just there now - then I located my first linking at #31 - Bloodroot by Amy Greene. Sorry, Carole! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to link up!
