Katherine Mansfield

Katherine Mansfield is probably New Zealand's most famous writer.  She is said to have revolutionised the short story.  Have you ever heard of her?

She lived a bohemian life at a time when women generally did not have much freedom to be different.  She was a difficult person who did a wonderful body of work before dying early in her thirties of tuberculosis.

This is a link to one of her most loved stories – The Garden Party

  1. Oh I really like Katherine Mansfield. I think some of those stories will last forever. I like The Daughters of the Late Colonel - it's a great title apart from anything else. But also very affecting and sad.
