Here's
February's edition of Books You Loved. Before getting to the linky part, here are my
showcases from the January edition.
Joie de Lire did a review of The Perks of Being a Wallflower by
Stephen Chbosky. While I don't read many
coming of age stories this one sounds quite different. It will be going onto my TBR list.
Thanks
to Louise at The Reading Experiment
for her review of The Dinner by
Herman Koch. I was particularly taken
with her comment that " Koch writes with the theatre
of a waiter making his way around a table, removing the silver cloche from each
meal with great flourish."
Whitney
of She is Too Fond of Books reviewed
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I don't do many thrillers but this sounds
like a good one.
Thanks
to Dizzy C's Little Book Blog for
her review of Before I Met You by
Lisa Jewell. Love the period – 1920's
and a setting in Guernsey.
Michelle
from Jarrah Jungle posted about
Joanne Harris' Chocolat, an old fave
of mine. Thanks, Michelle
Now
onto this month's collection of your posts about books you loved. Just put your entries into the Mr Linky
boxes. Put your name, and the name of
the book into the first one and copy the url for your post into the second.
There
are no rules – you can link a few posts if you like. But it would be really
good if you visited some other links and even better if you let them know where
you came across their posts! You might
find some great blogs to follow who will follow you back.
I
do make sure to follow everyone who links in.
Happy
linking!
I love these Books You Loved posts. I find so many to add to my to-read list!
ReplyDeleteAlways great to see what everyone else is reading :)
ReplyDeleteA great pleasure every month - so great of you to host it Carole.
ReplyDeleteChildren's picture books are fun and I love this one. It comes in a board book now, too.
ReplyDeleteI loved a lot of books but did joint reviews on some, so wanted to share one I did individually.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the linky!
ReplyDeleteAs always, this is a fine thing you have going here, Carole!
ReplyDeleteNew over here, but thanks for inviting me Carole. I'll be sure to check out these reviews.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to find book recommendations!! Thanks for stopping by my blog and telling me about this great linkup!
ReplyDeleteI've linked my reviews for two books that I loved in the past month: The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz and Standing in Another Man's Grave by Ian Rankin. The first is literary fiction, the second is in the mystery genre. I enjoyed both of them tremendously. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteKids picture books are full of fun and I love this one. Thanks for sharing this book with us.The Equation
ReplyDeleteI've been reading some really good books this month, but the one that really stood out for me is The Woman in Black: A Ghost Story by Susan Hill. I passed it on to my daughter to read next! We're both looking forward to seeing the movie with Daniel Radcliffe (minus the glasses!) :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Carole! See you next month! :)
I just posted my link but the title did not come up. :-( Anyway, I was going to post The Lost and Forgotten Languages of Shanghai by Ruiyan Xu, instead, my link appeared. Don't know what I did wrong this time, it worked all the other months. Anyway, I hope someone enjoys the title.
ReplyDeleteI linked up my favorite read for January--"The Power of a Positive Woman" which has to be one of the best non-fiction books I've ever read!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear about this list! I am sure I will find all kinds of books to add to the TBR pile.
ReplyDeleteHi Carole
ReplyDeleteI had to share 2 this month. One is an historical adventure/romance and one is a contemporary romance.

Great, now I have about a bajillion more books I want to read!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for the linky, so many books there! I've added Moranthology by Caitlin Moran. Not quite as good as How to be a Woman in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteI have a huge pile to read. Does that mean I still need more? :-)
ReplyDeleteI added a few Carole. Those are the ones I've rated the highest in my reviews. I still have more favorites but have to re-read them since I read them pre-blog and now I feel compelled to review them. I like this monthly list; it's a new favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteRegards.
