Flag of the Week – Grenada
The
flag of Grenada dates back to 1974 when it became independent from
Britain. The red-bordered design is
unusual. There are 7 stars representing
the 7 parishes of Grenada. And there is
a nutmeg in the green triangle on the left.
The nutmeg is the source of much of the island's wealth.
As a teenager, I spent a month in Grenada, on one if it's smaller islands, at a boarding school for a course in Marine Biology. Excellent experience.
