Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding

Otis Redding died on December 10 1967.  I just love his song Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay.  Talk about laid back!  It became a hit after he died in a plane crash.  It was recorded by him only 3 days before the crash.  He was only 26 – what a loss to the music world.

  2. OMG! I didn't know he died so long ago! I love this song too, I was around 13-14 when it came out and I also love Try a Little tenderness...I loved soul music from the 60's and early 70's. Thanks for the reminder.

  3. Great post! I didn't even know the anniversary of his death was coming up. I had the fortune (or misfortune) to see the marker in his honor at Monona Terrace in Madison this fall (he died in Lake Monona). "Try A Little Tenderness" is my favorite song of his as well.
