Flag of the Week: Barbados

The flag of Barbados was another flag that was chosen after a design competition.  The gold and blue is for golden sand and the blue waters of the Caribbean.  The symbol is a trident which represents Neptune – but is here because it was on the colonial flag.  Here it is shown with a short staff demonstrating the break with the colonial past.
