Solution – ExpatA tape is a sort of recording – not that many young people would have any idea about tape recording! If you "send over" or reverse the word "tape" you get "epat" – and then if you put that round "x" standing for an unknown quantity in algebra you get "expat" which is a word used to describe someone working abroad.
