Will you Love Me Tomorrow – The Shirelles

"Will You Love Me Tomorrow" was written by that amazing team of Carole King and Gerry Goffin.  Many of their hits were written while they still had day jobs as a pharmacist and secretary.  It was this song that landed them a position in music full time.

The lyrics were risqué for the times.  Goodness, a girl was thinking about sleeping with someone who is clearly not her husband.  What innocent times those were really.  But it became a #1 hit in 1960.

The first #1 hit in the US by an all girl group.  Doris Coley of The Shirelles was born on 2 August 1941.
