"Will You
Love Me Tomorrow" was written by that amazing team of Carole King and Gerry
Goffin. Many of their hits were written
while they still had day jobs as a pharmacist and secretary. It was this song that landed them a position
in music full time.
The lyrics were risqué for the times. Goodness, a girl was thinking about sleeping
with someone who is clearly not her husband.
What innocent times those were really.
But it became a #1 hit in 1960.
The first #1 hit in the US by an all girl group. Doris Coley of The Shirelles was born on 2
August 1941.
