Sharon Penman

Sharon Penman, the author, was born on August 13 1945.  I didn't know until I came to write this post that she is American.  I guess because her books that I have read are set in historical times in England I had just assumed she was English – duh.

The first one of her books I read was the Sunne in Splendour – a superb book about Richard III at the end of the Wars of the Roses.  I have enjoyed every one of her books.   Great historical fiction.

  1. Maybe I should check her out sometime. I love a good historical fiction. Check out Susanna Kearsely's books sometime. They are also historical fiction with a twist. :)

  3. Looks like another author I'll have to check out. I love Historical fiction. I like being able to read a good novel and think about all the happenings of that era.

  4. I haven't read any of Penman's work before. I will have to make some time to read one of her books. Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres. Thanks for sharing!
