Mark Knopfler was born on the 12th
August 1949 – so he will be 63 today – isn't it amazing how all these stars are
keeping on keeping on! He was originally
a member of Dire Straits but more recently has been doing solo albums. One of my real faves is his album Shangri-La. But the great Dire Straits album Brothers in
Arms shouldn't be forgotten.
Knopfler
was born in Scotland – you wouldn't have guessed that from his name! Before becoming a professional musician he
was a journalist and had a degree in English from the University of Leeds.
Clearly a clever guy.
Amazingly
a new cd is planned for release this September!
