Books you loved – July Edition

Another month has flown by and so, here is the July edition of Books You Loved.

As before just pop your links in via Mr Linky below.  There are no rules as to genre.  Just any book that you have read (at any time – not just in the last month) and that you loved.

We ended up with over 45 books in the June edition.  As a result I have added these books to my "must read" list:

Pursuit of Lucy Banning by Olivia Newport – reviewed by The Jaime Wright reports
No more than human – Maura Laverty –  reviewed by TBR 313
Platform by Michael Hyatt – useful info for bloggers – thank you Joseph Lalonde
Excellent Women by Barbara Pym – thank you to Clothes in Books
What I did in my Holidays by Chrissie Manby – thank you to Reabookreview

And enjoyed being reminded of these old faves:

Middlesex – Jeffrey Eugenides – thank you Bibliophilia
Of Human Bondage by Somerset Maugham – thank you Karen K at Books and Chocolate

Don't forget to check back later in the month to see what books have been added.  Happy reading.

  2. How will I find this each month? If I save this link, will it be in the same place? Or will it be a different link each month?

    THANKS.

  5. Thanks for this Carole, I think you'd enjoy Witch Light. It was called Corag in hardback. It's gentle but powerful; moving and memorable. I'll check back to see what else is listed later.

  7. Great idea Carole. I loved your post about Corn on the cobb. My fav way to cook it is to grill it. I usually shuck it, butter and salt, wrap in aluminum foil and grill it with the steaks. Now that it is summer time we are getting this a couple of times a week.

    1. Sorry, Vishal, I have removed your link because it went to your home page rather than to a book you loved.

  9. Thanks again Carole for this great idea. I got it slightly wrong (again!) so ended up posting twice, please delete the one that doesn't give the book title.

Mine is a classic childhood favourite, dating from the 1930s, that I loved as a child and still love now. I have a couple of blog entries on it, which you can reach from the one linked to. You don't have to be interested in ballet or stage children to enjoy it, either!

  11. Wow, I am honored! I would love to be a part of this link-up! Like Clothes In Books- I too messed up a bit! Could you delete my first entry? #17- which only has my name! Sorry about that I guess I just got ahead of myself. :) Can't wait to read the other reviews, and thanks again for letting me be a part of this and would love to continue to do so in the future!

  19. I read Gone this month by Cathi Hanauer and loved it...what a great story of love in a marriage and how it changes with the years. Marriage isn't static and I think I learned something about myself in the page.

  30. I could have chosen any of a great number of books, but since someone else already posted The Power of Habit I'm going to go with The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte. She's the most underrated of the Bronte sisters but her scenes are vivid and compelling.
