Today is St Morand’s day.
He is the
patron saint of vintners (wine makers).
The reason for this is that he apparently spent one Lent during which he
only ate one single bunch of grapes. Not
exactly a wise or balanced diet. The
common image of him suggests that he generally ate a lot more than that!
