Hi, following the success of my Food on Friday series, I have been inspired to do something similar
relating to books. The idea is for you
to link up to a post you have done about a book you liked a lot. Any type of book (x-rated excepted).
I will do this once each month for now and
see how it goes.
I hope we will end up with a great collection of books
to put on our reading lists. You don’t
have to be a specialist book reviewer.
Just say what you like. There are
no rules. Just have fun.
And if you don't have a blog, feel free just to put in a comment about a book you loved.
And if you don't have a blog, feel free just to put in a comment about a book you loved.
I have made a start by putting a link in to Mr Linky. PS I know Mr Linky encourages you to comment as well as put up a link - but don't feel you have to.

Hi Carole!
ReplyDeleteAs per your instructions! I loved reading this mini series as it is based in a small town Texas, on a ranch and has romantic elements as well as mystery, danger and thrills!
Thanks for telling me about this!
I read and reviewed this book, it's about a traumatised heroine running from her childhood and trying to set up a abused woman's shelter, all the while hoping her mum would leave her abusive dad and come knocking. Very emotional but inspiring story.
ReplyDeletethanks for joining in
DeleteSince I've started blogging with more frequency, I've noticed that lately, I'm reading more blogs than books. I like the idea of a once a month book meme. It might give me the impetus to read and review more often. I'll be ready for the next one, Carole!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the idea
DeleteHi Carole. I am adding a few more of the books I loved. I hope it's okay.
ReplyDeleteNo problem
DeleteLeft you a link, thanks for the invite!
ReplyDeleteHey, that's great.
DeleteHi Carole, thanks for your comment on my blog. Although I loved The Endless Forest, I have not yet been able to find anything quite as good as Water for Elephants, so I've linked that to your post. One of the greatest books I've ever read! There are so many to choose from though - I'm currently reading The Blasphemer by Nigel Farndale which has a lot of promise.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day :)

thank you Sarah. I have also put the title there for you.
DeleteThe link I added is to my book list. It's always growing and contains the books I've enjoyed most and my thoughts on them. Several have an entire blog post with my thoughts. Also included are a few books that sit on my shelf to-be-read. http://agricultureproud.com/readings-and-ruminations/
ReplyDeleteGreat that you linked in, thanks.
DeleteHi Carole. I'm happy to participate in your fun meme. I'm recommending Alexander McCall Smith's latest "The Limpopo Academy of Private Detection," a very pleasurable read for me.

ReplyDeleteLove your list so far, some great reads!

Welcome aboard. Great to have your contribution.
DeleteI posted The Breath of God....I loved that book. Interesting with the research that the author did, but also a thrill ride with the mystery and murder. Great book...if you like Dan Brown you will love this book.
ReplyDeletethanks Lisa, I do like most of Dan Brown's
DeleteI am a day late and a dollar short but I'm here! I also forgot to put the name of the book with my name...'Death at Crane's Court'. An Irish mystery. This is a great old vintage mystery, my favorite kind of book! I'll get it right next time!
ReplyDeleteYou are not at all late! This will be open until the next one which will be around the 9th June. Your book looks interesting.
DeleteHi Carole, thanks for asking me! Hope I have 'linked' properly!
ReplyDeleteMel x
Great to have you along. I have put the title in for you and taken out the home page link.
DeleteWhat a great idea! I have picked Cold Comfort Farm (and failed to get it into my title, I'll know better next time), and am very interested to read everyone else's suggestions. Good to see so many books blogs out there, and I look forward to this being a regular feature - Clothes in Books
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in the fun.
DeleteAlso, I have linked to you on my blog, and am now following you.
ReplyDeleteWelcome aboard! Look forward to getting to know you. I am following you now too.
DeleteThanks Carole! I linked up Impossible by Nancy Werlin...
ReplyDeleteGreat, thanks a lot.
DeleteThank you for letting me know about this new series of yours! I think it's a great idea. I also loved Watership Down, (although I hate when animals are hurt, killed or in pain but Watership Down is a different kind of book than an animal rescue one)
ReplyDeletethanks for your nice comment
DeleteWhat a fantastic idea, Carole! I'll try to remember to post the link in my blog sometime in the next little while!
ReplyDeleteI loved that book too, Talli. And hopefully some of the readers will find out about your books as well via the link.
DeleteHi Carole. What a brilliant idea. I have blogged about The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, which I've just read - and adored.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Emma
DeleteDear Carole
ReplyDeletethanks for inviting me to post a book. I'm having a bit of trouble adding my URL though. The book I'm recommending is The Submission by Amy Waldman-- it's a wonderful novel about hte clash of cultures and expectations.
Soniah
Hi Soniah - not sure what the issue is - but if you comment again and put the url into your comment I'll put it up for you in a few hours when I am back on my main computer.
DeleteCheers
I forgot to include the title of my book - silly me. THE TALISMAN RING by Georgette Heyer. One of my favorite books ever.
ReplyDeleteNo problem, I'll put it in for you
DeleteI forgot to include the book title, too. lol Darkness Dawns is the title.
ReplyDeleteI've fixed it for you. Thanks for linking in.
DeleteThanks, Carole! Thanks for the invite. :)
DeleteA lovely idea and thanks for the invitation to join in which I am happy to do. I will pick a title I have enjoyed recently and link up.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Love the round-ups and the reviews. I don't post book reviews but I'm happy to visit others for ideas on what to suggest at my book club. I just finished Defending Jacob by William Landay, which I loved, couldn't put it down.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
