Dame Catherine Tizard

Dame Catherine Tizard (or Dame Cath as she is known) has a birthday today.  I won’t say what year she was born because I suspect she wouldn’t enjoy that in the unlikely event that she saw this post.  She is a former Mayor of Auckland and Governor-General of New Zealand.  She broke the mould and showed us how you could do important jobs while being quite unpretentious.
