A Marge Piercy poem that appealed to me - Life is the first gift

Life is the first gift,
love is the second,
and understanding the third.

The chance to love and be loved
exists no matter where you are.

In matters of the heart,
nothing is true
except the improbable.

And what do all the great words
come to in the end, but that ?
I love you
I am at rest with you I have come home.

That’s all nonviolence is
organized love.

Marge Piercy is a poet, novelist and feminist social activist.

  6. Carole, thanks for sharing this poem. Life is a gift...one that can easily slip past us if we lose sense of our focus.

Your blog site looks interesting. New Zealand has always been on my family's list for countries to visit. Thanks again.
