Food on Friday: Potatoes/Sweet Potatoes



ON


Food on Friday this time is looking for dishes using potatoes, sweet potatoes (or as we call them kumara).

Potatoes go well with:

Bacon
Beef
Butter
Chicken
Chives
Coriander
Cream
Cumin
Duck fat
Fish stock
Garlic
Lamb
Melting cheeses
Milk
Mushrooms
Olive oil
Onions
Parsley
Rosemary
Saffron
Sage
Salad leaves
Salmon roe
Salt
Sausages
Sorrel
Spinach
Yoghurt




Sweet Potatoes go well with:

Bacon
Brown sugar
Butter

Cinnamon
Coconut milk
Cream
Ham
Maple syrup
Nutmeg
Oregano
Rosemary
Salt
Turkey
Turmeric

  54. My favourite root vegetable! I've posted a recipe from Nepal. Alu Dum is a dry preparation of potatoes - in this case baby potatoes - and the main ingredient in this dish besides the potatoes is red chilli paste. The more the merrier, but to cut down on the heat, I used red pepper paste and very little red chilli paste.
