Need some inspiration? Try Asparagus

If you need some inspiration for dealing with asparagus, I suggest you look at all the wonderful ideas in the Asparagus Edition of Food on Friday. I find it a great resource for sparking off new meal ideas. And asparagus is such a great ingredient – whether it is fresh and in season, or canned.

This post features 5 of the links contributed to this Food on Friday.  Needless to say, selecting only 5 was a tricky task – so I narrowed it down to 15 and then drew lots.

Here they are:

Shrimp scampi with pan roasted asparagus and linguine

Don't you just love the way those shrimps look!  Great work Stella.

Such a simple and succulent idea, thanks Lizzy.

Congratulations everyone.  Stand by for next week's edition of Need Some Inspiration?

PS I have now made up a Pinboard with the links from Food on Friday: Asparagus.  This is the link.

  4. Thanks for the tip on the private blog post, Carole. I was registering my blog with Technorati and had to publish a post with that code for them to verify that the blog was indeed mine. Sorry if I clogged up your news feed, wasn't my intention!

On another note, I just tried a recipe for grilled asparagus with barbeque sauce! It was, well, different to say the least. :)

  10. Hi Carole! Thanks for stopping by Whimsically Homemade! I absolutely love asparagus! I used to hate it. So much so that my boyfriend made it my pet name. But I tried baked asparagus coated with olive oil, salt, and pepper baked at 350 in the oven for about 15-20 minutes. HEAVEN! Following you back through GFC!
