One Good Turn by Kate Atkinson

One Good Turn is the second of a series about a former PI Jackson Brodie.  I posted about the first Case Histories here.  This sequel is as good, if not better.

It isn't so literary that it's difficult to read but isn't a traditional detective story either.  The characters are interesting and nuanced (mostly, except one villain, Ray, who is deliberately one-dimensional).

The setting is Edinburgh during the Festival which leads to some quite funny content.
