Books You Loved: June
had some very interesting books – as always.
Some reviews that caught my eye were:
Rise & Shine, Benedict Stone was reviewed over
at Silver's Reviews. I've read it now too and agree with Elizabeth
that the book 'was a
heartwarming read about family, about trying new things, and about trying to
get what you need in life.'
Close Enough to Touch was reviewed on
Goodreads by Melissa of Chick Lit
Central. The review said 'I can't recommend this book enough!
Add it to your must-read pile if you haven't taken a chance on it yet. Trust
me, it's worth the time invested. (And yet it's easy to breeze right through.)'
The Sunshine Sisters was added to the
collection by Susan at The Book Bag. Her review said 'The
three sisters are all as different as night and day and they each had their own
way of dealing with their difficult mother. Ronni shaped each of her daughter's
personalities by the way she treated them. They are the people they are today
because of, or in spite of, her.'
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
was reviewed by Heather of Books and
Quilts. Her review mentioned the
theme of arranged marriage or not and said 'I
couldn't wait to read more, to find out how they both could succeed in their
goals without totally crushing the other. How could I not love both
Dimple and Rishi. They were both so sincere and passionate in their
belief that they had chosen the correct life path.'
And now for something a bit different – Real Artists Don't Starve by Jeff Goins was
reviewed by Create with Joy. She said 'Real Artists Don’t Starve is an inspiring book that every
creative person (no matter whether you express your creativity through art, music,
writing, acting, or any other means) simply must read! The book opens with 12
Principles That Every Thriving Artist Lives By – Rules of the New Renaissance,
as Jeff calls them – a manifesto for creatives to adopt.'
Now on to the July
collection. Remember the posts you link
in don't have to be recent and the book concerned doesn't have to have been
recently published or read. The only
requirement is that it is about a book that you loved.
To add to the list just pop the name of the book (and
your name/blog name if you like) into the first Mr Linky box and then copy and
paste the url of your post about it into the second box.
I'll be pinning your links to this Pinboard to make it easier
for you to check them out at a glance.
happy 4th tx for the heads up
