Connecticut is the southernmost of the states that make up the area known as
New England.
Pronunciation: The second c is silent – no wonder non-
English speakers get confused!

Constitution State, Nutmeg State

Hartford. The very first car insurance
policy issued in the States was issued here in 1898

foods – New Haven style Pizza (apizza), Subway started in
the State!, Oysters
You'll find Yale
University in Connecticut – it was the place where the first medical
diploma was issued in the States
You will also find Mystic
Seaport which is the largest Maritime Museum in the world apparently.
Famous
people from Connecticut – Both President Bushes, Richard and
Karen Carpenter, Katherine Hepburn, Radar O'Reilly (Gary Burghoff), Paul Newman
and Meat Loaf
Hartford was also informally known as the capital of insurance and banks.

Authors Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe lived in Hartford. Noah Webster (from Webster Dictionary fame)lived in West Hartford.
