Tightrope by Simon Mawer

I almost didn't review Tightrope because it is not the sort of thing I usually read.  A colleague recommended it to me.  It is a sort of post WWII spy thriller.

The heroine is compulsively interesting.  The writing is taut and very engaging.

I found myself making time to read this book – and at the end I couldn't put it down.

So if you're in the mood for a tense but satisfying read, this may be one for you.
