ON
Kath has been a great supporter of Food on Friday – her
blog has lots of fabulous dishes – she started her blog in 2009. One of my many favourites of hers is Simple Salmon Chirashi (think sushi
flavours) – go check it out.
So the idea for this Food on Friday is to build a
collection of dishes that are Chinese or incorporate elements of Chinese
cooking.
To add your dishes, just put the name of the dish
together with your blog name/name into the first Mr Linky box you will find below.
Then paste the url for your post about it into the second box.
I'll be pinning the dishes to this Pinboard which will make it easy for you to check them out at
a glance.
慢慢吃! (That's Bon Appetit in Mandarin) Thanks, Kath!
Cheers Carole!
ReplyDeleteWow, I really had to stretch it for this one. I found a recipe with soy sauce in it :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!
This week, it's Sichuan Hot Oil (hong you) - oil infused with Sichuan peppercorns, chillis, ginger, garlic, and other spices. It'll wake up anything you put it in - I use it to fry eggs!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the invite this was a great party love all the great Chinese food I brought chicken lo mein!
ReplyDeleteI love this cuisine, but don't prepare it often enough. :( Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteGrowing up in and around Chinese Takeaways, Chinese food is comfort food. My dad cooked professionally and mum cooked at home (though dad would help). Chinese food, particularly Cantonese food is so comforting to me that it verges on mundane. It's funny, I shared a photo on Instagram once that I wasn't going to share because hey, it was just picture of wontons. The response was overwhelming! It's always interesting to see what seems mundane to you might be exotic or unusual to others.
ReplyDeleteThis Fried Chicken and Cashew Nuts is so good, it's really easy to make and very tasty. I've not a new blog url Carole, hope you will pop over and visit :)
ReplyDeleteChinese food is a worldwide phonomenon, but each country develops a Chinese flavour distinctive to its own tastes. Indo-Chinese cuisine is one example. Chinese food in India is of the Hakka, Manchurian and Szechwan varieties incorporating spicy tastes into Chinese cuisine. Chili Chicken was born in India and exemplifies Chinese cuisine as it is enjoyed in the Indian city of Kolkata.
ReplyDeleteHi Carole love Chinese food and I've chosen my own recipe for prawn
ReplyDeleteHa! I just posted this recipe today. Our stars are in alignment. Cheers Carole!
ReplyDeleteYum! Your Pork Fried Rice looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole. Great things here today!

ReplyDeleteCarol, thanks so much for choosing my suggestion for this week and for the wonderful words about my blog! :) I posted my recipe for Salt and Pepper Shrimp, a favorite Chinese-American dish.
ReplyDeleteCheers!

Hi Carole. I've submitted three recipes. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteYou've made me take a long hard look at myself this week, Carole. Astoundingly - given that I used to live in China and cook Chinese foods often - I have no actual Chinese recipes on my blog! I've interpreted the theme somewhat loosely, and submitted dishes from other parts of the world which have Chinese influences :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder, Carole!
ReplyDeleteHi Carole, this theme suits me well cos' I have been cooking lots of easy Chinese food. Thanks for reminding. BTW, I like the theme logo and had posted it in my post. Hope it is okay.
ReplyDeleteLove the theme this week, and even though I'm a little late to the party, I brought a couple of dishes, but now I'm majorly craving chinese food, and there are no chinese restaurants around here so I'll have to make my own, again. But thanks to all the great posts here, I've got some more recipes to try. Thanks for hosting this each week.
ReplyDeleteCarole,
ReplyDeleteThis one was a toughie for me--I've got Japanese dishes, Thai dishes, but very few Chinese-specific dishes. Excellent choice--thanks Kath!
