ON
Somewhere
in my past, I clearly picked up some thrifty habits because I really do not
like wasting food. So for this Food on Friday we are focusing on
dishes which use leftovers!
To add your
dish using leftovers, just put the name of the dish together with your blog
name/name into the first Mr Linky box you will find below. Then paste the url for your post about it
into the second box.
I'll be
pinning the links to this Pinboard –
this is a quick way for you to scan the dishes and choose which ones you want
to check out in more detail.
Have fun
making an inspirational collection of dishes!
Great Idea! Wish my recipe was for a more "traditional" sort of leftover, what I posted was all I had.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
A quiche is a great way to use up your leftovers! Thanks Carole!!
ReplyDeleteLeftovers are underrated. Best way to beat food waste. Thanks for this theme!
ReplyDeleteI had some leftover polenta so I made vinegar chicken on a bed of creamy polenta. I does not taste like a leftover.

Left overs . Always a challenge. Have a great Friday Carole!
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I hate leftovers. With a few exceptions. Love using leftover Mexican to make Chilaquiles. And I'll roast an extra chicken just to have hot chicken sandwiches with homemade fries.

Thanks for the inspiring party! Carole - So many great leftover ideas.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting. I actually linked up an entire post where I talked about how to make the most of your leftovers by repurposing them and turning them into something else.
ReplyDeletePork Fried Rice is easy to make with some leftover rice and cooked pork. It could also be made with leftover cooked chicken or shrimp.
ReplyDeleteI'm using my pasta sauce leftover to create new dish. Tortilla Lasagna.
ReplyDeleteCarole, I don't think I've posted any recipes using leftovers, but it's a great idea for a post! Like you, I hate wasting food. Especially meat - I figure some animal gave its life in order for me to have this roast (or whatever), so it would be obscene to waste it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole for the invitation to join you :-)

Leftovers can be transformed into delicious, yummy food.
ReplyDeleteGreat theme!
ReplyDeleteSometimes leftovers are the best bit and the turkey and stuffing pasties that I shared are definitely one of my favourite things about leftovers.
ReplyDeleteA great way to use leftover dishes with sauces is to make Pizza!
ReplyDeleteUsing up left overs is one of the themes of the newest Jamie book that I've been cooking from a lot lately. I've added two recipes, one using left over chicken and one using left over pork!
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of leftovers, often the meals are better than the original!
ReplyDeleteI shared several, using leftovers is fun and keeps a kitchen frugal too.
ReplyDeleteI dig this theme, Carole. My leftovers tend to be an exact repeat of the previous meal. I'm not very creative in this area!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole, I've been out of town, so am just now playing catchup. Great theme here, now that I've posted some of my faves, I'll go check out the rest.
ReplyDeleteHi Carole,
ReplyDeleteOops...I have listed my blog's name instead of the name of the dish....!! Sorry!
Supposed to be Leftover Meatloaf Stir-Fry.
Thanks for hosting!
