Great subject this week! I love my carbs, especially on Thanksgiving. Small fresh-baked dinner rolls are perfect for leftover Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches. In this case, with Hanukkah and Thanksgiving being at the same time, I posted the fabulous Challah recipe I got from a Jewish friend.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol! Thanks for hosting! I'm sharing two recipes this week. One is buns and the bread, both of which are gluten free, yeast free, dairy free.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! If you can't get refrigerated biscuit dough where you live, you can make your own--just look for a recipe for "buttermilk biscuits."
ReplyDeleteHi, Carol! Enjoy the sunny weather! It's snowing here in Winnipeg.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to everyone! My post - #8 - is another two-fer: a bread that freezes well and a quick pizza. It would also be great with leftover turkey.
Carole,
ReplyDeleteWhat a timely collection! I've linked up multigrain cereal sandwich rolls, what my guest baker (I've known her all my life ;) ) makes for us to enjoy our Thanksgiving leftovers in sandwich form.
Over the summer, as part of the Homegrown.org summer book club, I read Michael Pollan's Cooked. I was sufficiently intrigued about his descriptions of sourdough baking, and of a Wonder Bread factory, to start baking my own sourdough bread. Don't get all impressed--my initial starter came as a dried powder (present from my son) and most often I bake loaves in my bread machine. My kids and I prefer the homemade bread. My spouse recently returned and thinks that the crumbs all over the counter are not worth it. Eh, I'll work on him.
Thanks for hosting!
Thanks, Carole. I put up 2. I've got many, many. many more in docaitta.com. They can just search "bread"!
ReplyDeleteHi Carole! Here's my gluten-free two cents!

ReplyDeleteSo happy you kept me on your mailing list, even though it has been months since I have posted, Carole. Here's a recipe from seven years back, just in time for the winter holidays. I made this late one Christmas Eve, and might try it again this year.
ReplyDeleteYou've hit on one of my favorite topics...homemade bread! Delicious!!

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Carole, I love bread. I love it toasted with butter, I love it dunked into soup and I love chicken, avocado and mayonnaise sandwiches.....but not for the next few weeks as I am trying to lose a few pounds before Christmas. I have included my Soda bread this week, so I am now going to get inspired by reading other blogs which have joined your party.
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes
Daphne
Hi, Carole! I shared a recipe for milk bread I made for St. Brighid's Day back in February.
ReplyDeleteI bake most all of our bread and I can't wait to check out some of the other recipes! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this great idea for the week. I've just discovered how easy it is to make the kind of bread I like to eat, and I'm on my second bag of flour so far, and it's only been two weeks. This No-Knead bread is so good. I actually bake it and bring to a lot of gatherings, and it seems pretty popular. I'm also posting the other kind of bread I bake on a regular basis, which is Danish style Rye Bread.
ReplyDeleteLove this category. I posted my Mamma's Dilly Batter Bread.
ReplyDeletePerfece theme!
