The Unsinkable Greta James by Jennifer E Smith

The Unsinkable Greta James was a welcome surprise.  Much more than a romance.  Although there were some romantic elements.

Greta, a popular indie rock chick, is still upset by the death of her mother.  She ends up going on an Alaskan cruise that her parents had planned.  Her relationship with her father is rocky.

She meets a historian nerd Ben on the boat (no, a ship).

The tale is funny in parts, moving as well and a very compelling depiction of a father/daughter relationship.

The cover is great – but I don't know why they chose 'unsinkable' – gives away too much for me.

This is the author's first book for adults.  She has written a number of successful young adult works.
