Books You Loved: December Edition

Books You Loved: November continued to provide reviews of great books. Thank you to all. Here are a few that caught my eye:

The Printed Letter Bookshop by Katherine Reay was reviewed by Stray Thoughts. Her review said 'Katherine’s books all contain a wealth of literary references, usually to classics. With this story revolving about a bookshop and stories, literary references flow delightfully freely.'

Chick Lit Central posted about the new JoJo Moyes – The Giver of Stars.  Melissa said 'The Giver of Stars was engaging and difficult to put down. The story was very interesting. I never knew about the traveling libraries until now.  … I definitely recommend checking it out for a cozy night in front of a fire this autumn.'

Jessica of The Bookworm Chronicles brought over a classic – Persuasion by Jane Austen.  The post said 'I think Persuasion is a beautiful, delicate and heartbreaking classic about love lost and love won. All written with Austen’s careful, ironic observations on the people, etiquette and society of Regency England'

And now for a graphic memoir by Mr Sulu (aka George Takei).  Thanks to Captivated Reader for bringing They Called Us Enemy to our attention.  The review said 'I wanted to read it and learn about Takei's firsthand experience living in an internment camp with his family while he was a boy.

The artwork for They Called Us Enemy by George Takei is stunning as well'

A quick reminder of my own post about a simply stunning book – The Choice by Dr Edith Eva Egar.

Now on to the December edition – last one for the year.  There are no rules for this party.  The only requirement is that your post is about a book that you loved.

To add to the list just pop the name of the book (and your name/blog name if you like) into the first Mr Linky box and then copy and paste the url of your post about it into the second box. Mr Linky now also makes you tick a box.

I'll be pinning your links to this Pinboard to make it easier for you to check them out at a glance.  It also has links from previous Decembers…

  5. Thank you for the mention, Carole :-) Sadly I can't link anything in this month, as I am sooo far behind with my review writing. Hopefully I will be back in January with lots of books to share with you!
