The Choice by Dr Edith Eva Eger

First, a huge thank you to my sister (A) who sent me this book for my birthday.  It's taken a while to read – not because it is difficult in itself but it does stir up your thoughts about the past and things that have happened to you. I have been recommending this book right left and centre so please excuse the enthusiasm.

The book is written by a nonagenarian who is an Auschwitz survivor and also the most upbeat and integrated person I have ever met via the written word.

The cover has a quote from Desmond Tutu – "The Choice is a gift to humanity.  One of those rare and eternal stories that you don't want to end and that leave you forever changed."

Well it certainly has affected me.

This is part autobiography and part thoughts on healing – which are applicable to everyone.  She doesn't underestimate the difficulty of healing – no matter what the challenges have been.  And we all have had challenges, right?

Do yourself a favour and read this book.
