Weird music – Tortoise

Tortoise is the name of an experimental rock band formed in Chicago.  I haven't been able to  ]track down any definitive reason for the underwhelming band name.  But who am I to criticise – there were the Turtles after all!

Apparently they were going to call themselves Mosquito but they found out that there was already a band with that name. One of the band came up with Terrapin Rhythm Section and that ended up being Tortoise.
