Books You Loved: June Edition

Books You Loved: May continued to provide reviews of great books. Thank you to all. Here are a few links that caught my eye:

The Boy Who Steals Houses by CG Drews was reviewed by Divabooknerd.  She said 'Vibrant and genuine characters, a warmth and humour that's become a signature of C. G. Drews, it was utterly beautiful. Now excuse me while I pick up my shattered heart she attempted to tape back together while manically laughing. Again.'

Elle of The Erratic Project Junkie posted about The Murmur of Bees by Sofia Segovia.  She said 'The Murmur of Bees by Sofia Segovia was hauntingly beautiful and emotionally heart-wrenching. It shows such great talent in the author and presents a story that feels so amazingly real and tangible. It is historical fiction at its finest'

Elizabeth of Silver's Reviews posted about Little Lovely Things by Maureen Joyce Connolly.  Elizabeth said it 'is heartbreaking, heartwarming, and has 98% likeable characters.  5/5'

Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor was reviewed by Tracey of Carpe Librum.  She said 'I haven't been this impressed by an author's imagination and world building since reading my first Harry Potter.'

Now on to the June edition.  There are no rules for this party.  The only requirement is that your post is about a book that you loved.

To add to the list just pop the name of the book (and your name/blog name if you like) into the first Mr Linky box and then copy and paste the url of your post about it into the second box. Mr Linky now also makes you tick a box.

I'll be pinning your links to this Pinboard to make it easier for you to check them out at a glance.  It also has links from previous Junes…

  4. Thanks so much mentioning my love for Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor last month. This month my favourite book was Anna of Kleve by Alison Weir. It's an historical fiction novel about the life of Anne of Cleves. It follows her life beyond the annulment, all the way through to King Henry's death in 1547 and her own death a decade later in 1557.

I'd never read anything about Anne of Cleves beyond the end of her marriage to King Henry and thoroughly enjoyed it.

  7. This month, I have linked in the riotous Guards! Guards! from Terry Pratchett's fantastical Discworld series. I am way behind on my reviews though, so we have a lot more to share with you next month.

  8. If you like "Open All Hours", "Only Fools and Horses" or "Inspector Frost", you will like this book by actor David Jason about his life. Both hilarious and thoughtful.
