Books You Loved: February Edition

Books You Loved: January continued to provide reviews of great books. Thank you to all. Here are a few that caught my eye:

Melissa brought over The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain.  She said 'The Dream Daughter is an excellent story. It kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering what would happen next and worrying about the characters when I had to step away to attend to real life. Sometimes I thought I knew what was going to happen, but then I'd get thrown for a loop. Diane's writing drew me in and didn't let go.'

Sally from Read Around the World posted about The Diary of a Bookseller.  She said 'I've just finished the most delightful book, one that I discovered by accident, and one that has convinced me to add a new town to my "places to visit before I die" list. Wigtown, Scotland'  Wonderful books discovered by accident are just the bees knees.

Asking For It by Louise O'Neill was from Captivated Reader.  The review said 'Asking For It is a powerful story about the devastating effects of rape and public shaming, told through the awful experience of a young woman whose life is changed forever by an act of violence.'  I guess you have to be in the right frame of mind to read this one – the cover is a triumph.

Blackberry and Wild Rose  by Sonia Velton was brought to us by She Reads Novels.  The post read 'While a friendship does form between the two women, they are not entirely comfortable around each other and neither is quite sure whether the other can be trusted, which makes for a tense and exciting story! The plot kept me gripped throughout the book and although I thought I could predict how it would end, I was wrong and the ending was actually much more realistic than I’d expected. This is an impressive debut novel and I hope to read more from Sonia Velton in the future.'

I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella was reviewed by Elizabeth from Books I Think You Should Read.  She said 'Recommended for: Anyone who enjoys a light read or British fiction.'  This one went straight onto my tbr.

Now on to the February edition.  There are no rules for this party.  The only requirement is that your post is about a book that you loved.

To add to the list just pop the name of the book (and your name/blog name if you like) into the first Mr Linky box and then copy and paste the url of your post about it into the second box. Mr Linky now also makes you tick a box.

I'll be pinning your links to this Pinboard to make it easier for you to check them out at a glance.  It also has links from previous Februaries…
