This Day In History

Today, the 21st of April is the Queen's Real Birthday – she has 2, one that is officially celebrated in the UK on the second Saturday in June (the first Monday in June here in New Zealand).

The monarch's birthday has been celebrated on the same day whatever their actual birthday is – it makes sense in the UK where the celebration is in summer.  But it is a bit weird here in New Zealand when June is in winter.

So here's an unofficial happy birthday to Her Majesty on her 92nd - congratulations, Ma'am.
