It's that time of the month – time for 2 more figures of speech.  Last month we did Assonance and Alliteration.

This month we're doing Antithesis and Oxymoron

Antithesis is about stark contrast.  Two words or concepts are used which are vastly different as a way to emphasis something

Oxymoron is also about contrast – it also fits the definition of antithesis – but it involves words which are a contradiction in terms or paradox
