Assonance and Alliteration this Month!  Enjoy


The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain


These were examples of assonance – where similar vowel sounds are used for effect.

 Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers
 





As you have seen alliteration also uses similar sounds – but at the beginning of words.
