So what is Mediterranean
Food? Well, according to Mr
Google the most common ingredients are:
Anchovies
Balsamic Vinegar
Cheese like mozzarella
Chilli
Fish
Fruits
Garlic
Ham
Herbs & spices like
oregano, basil
Honey
Legumes
Lemons
Olive oil
Vegetables like tomatoes,
cucumbers
Wine
So long as your dishes are vaguely Mediterranean
they'll be fine for the collection – and of course contributions from
Mediterranean cooks will be great!
To add your dishes, just put the name of the dish
together with your blog name/name into the first Mr Linky box you will find
below. Then paste the url for your post
about it into the second box.
Hi, Carole and all,
ReplyDeleteOkay… Malta is an island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, just south of Sicily. So, yes these are Mediterranean recipes!
This post ( # 9 ) has links for over 20 recipes, including a link for Ma’s Maltese soups.
Don’t be put off by the title - the recipes are delicious any time of the year and for any religious persuasion.
My entry is from an Isreali chef that I tried a while back. It features pomegranate juice and some traditional Mediterranean seasoning.
ReplyDeleteHi Carole, how fun to feature Mediterranean food. One of my favorites! Thanks for hosting and I hope you have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteSam
As you will see from the number of recipes I've brought (I had to stop in the end, it was getting a bit ostentatious, lol), Mediterranean food is up there on our favourites list! Thanks for including me! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for the party, Carole! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Carole! Can't wait to see all the tasty foods! Thanks for hosting the party. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Carole! I married into a Greek family, and my "Greek for a Week" post features traditional Greek Lenten (Vegan) recipes - specially adapted for freezer cooking.
ReplyDeleteI adore food from this part of the world. Thanks for the party! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHave a amazing week end!
ReplyDeleteAs a Greek I have hundreds of recipes on my blog. I've posted a few but if you search "healthy recipes" - "Greek recipes" - "Lenten" on my blog's search engine you will find some of them.
ReplyDeleteThough I can't claim the recipe as my own, I am very happy to list Ottolenghi's a recipe for Chickpeas w Rice & Currants. Great for a crowd!
ReplyDeleteEverything sounds so good! Thanks, Carole!
ReplyDeleteHello! I've brought a Maltese Spaghetti Omelette and a Tortilla de Guisantes. The tortilla is seasoned with mint and is delicious with fresh or frozen peas.
ReplyDeleteI have so many recipes, having lived in Spain and generally cook quite a bit from the region, but have linked one for now!
ReplyDeleteCarole,
ReplyDeleteYou may have noticed I've spent the morning linking up to a whole host of Food On Friday posts! I had a backlog of emails in my inbox, several hundred, and after clearing out the spam I'm dealing with the rest. Like your emails, for FOF! I've been reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up and it's spilling over into my computer in addition to my closet and cabinets.
Thank you for hosting--I'm glad to be caught up!
I have about 7...so here is a favorite. My "Olive You" Chicken. Enjoy
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I'm a little late to the party, but hopefully the dishes I brought will make up for it. Thanks for hosting this Carole, I love getting new ideas for food.
ReplyDeleteGreek Scampi from our house!
ReplyDeleteI'm late, late to your party:(
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy the Pastitsio I brought
to the party. A recipe from my Culinary Adventures
Series~ Lynn
