Capital City of the Week – Washington DC

This is the last of the Capital City series so I am finishing with one everyone knows!  Washington DC.  DC was a planned city. A French born architect L'Enfant (which means Child) was engaged to plan it.

This is the Smithsonian Institution.  Doesn't it look grand!

And how about the interior of the Union Station!

This is the central fountain in the World War II Memorial.

So where in the world is Washington DC?

Of course, Washington DC is the capital of:

  1. Beautiful. The fountain's impressive. I like places and other man made sites commemorated on something meaningful.

  2. Love it!! I have been there - twice!

  3. I really hope to visit there some year soon.
