Food on Friday: Dairy Free

ON

I know many people have to eat dairy or lactose free and others choose to do so.  So I thought a collection of Dairy Free recipes would be a good idea.

To add your recipe, just pop the name of the dish (plus your name if you like) into the first Mr Linky box and paste the url for your post about the dish into the second one.

There are no rules – other than no dairy, of course!  I will be pinning each dish to this Pinboard as fast as I can (time zones being an issue).  Visiting the Pinboard is an easy way for you to get a feel for the dishes.
Happy no moo day!

  1. Those popsicles are so good, no one ever misses the dairy. And...they're low cal too.

  3. I brought some wonderful maple syrup back from Quebec last year, and used it in my baked beans, made in a slow cooker. Nothing dairy-related here!

  5. Apologies that I served my Ruby Red Strawberry Crumble with icecream, but you dont have to, or you could use a nut milk substitute.

  7. Hi Carole, I brought a sauerkraut and sausage skillet to the party. The juice from the sauerkraut and starch from the potatoes combine to make a creamy sauce that covers everything in the pan. Delicious!

  13. Hi Carole - this week I've included a recipe for an 'open kibbeh' with a topping that looks like cheese or sour cream but is in fact tahini. Very Middles Eastern. Cheers!

  14. Carole,
Dairy free is a terrific category for a Food on Friday--it's so wide open!
I've got a breakfast for you: Orange Date Olive Oil Muffins. Served warm with a vegan buttery spread they are a delicious way to start a dairy free day.
For lunch I am partial to Sautéed Beet Greens with Spring Onions and a dash of sherry vinegar--finished off with an over easy fried egg. If you don't have beet greens, what about a Quick Pickled Beet and Herring Salad instead?
Continuing our dairy free day, I'd suggest a Sriracha Butternut Squash Hummus for an appetizer, and Hoisin Sesame Swai with Hoisin-roasted Radishes for dinner.
And then snag another muffin for dessert?!

    Thanks for hosting!

  18. Good Morning Carole, Oooh dairy free.... now that is a challenge for me as I use cheese, butter and eggs in a lot of my cooking. After a little search I found my Roasted Red Pepper Dip which fits the bill.
    Have a lovely weekend.
    Best Wishes
    Daphne
