Lorde

You may have heard of the singer Lorde.  She stormed up international charts with her single Royals.  What you may not know is that Lorde, who is only 17, is a New Zealander from my own fair city.

She is the first New Zealand artist to have a No 1 single in the US.  Her album is called Pure Heroine.  She writes her own songs.  Such a talented young person is quite inspiring.

PS  Since I originally drafted this post, Lorde won 2 Grammy's - one for best pop vocal performance and the other for best song!  Wowee!
