Capital City of the Week – Lima


This is the Historic Centre of Lima.  It is a World Heritage Site.  The city was founded in 1535 and was originally called the City of Kings.  The country has been independent since 1821.



You can find this statue in Lima.  Apparently young tourists regularly imitate the pose and get photographed in front of this statue.

Ceviche is the National Food of Lima and the country.

  1. I would love to go to Peru - I have good friends who live and work there. Fortunately they cam eback tot eh UK for Christmas- so I did get to see them - but I dream of visiting that beautiful country [don't want to eat guinea pig tho!!]
