Today's
artist is a contemporary New Zealand artist, Allen Maddox. He was born in
Liverpool, England in 1948 and immigrated to New Zealand at the age of 15.
As
you can see from the works I have selected, Maddox's thing was grids and
crosses. Despite working within this
limited range of subject his work is actually quite diverse.
Maddox
unfortunately died in 2000 at the relatively young age of 51.
Like many successful artists Maddox's life
was somewhat chaotic and he operated on the margins of madness and genius.
