Napa Valley

Napa Valley

If you are visiting San Francisco, a day trip to Napa Valley is a great idea.  It is a lovely wine region.  And if you manage to be the non-driver you will be able to sample some lovely wines as well as eat some very good food.

It only takes about an hour to drive to Napa Valley from San Francisco.  There are wine/bus tours apparently but we went in a self drive car.

If you stayed there, you could bike around the various wineries – although you would need to be sure not to drink so much wine that you fell off your bike!

Domaine Chandon Napa Valley

Lunch at Domaine Chandon was a great experience – and no, I'm not sponsored by anyone to say so!

Other than Domaine Chandon (who can pass up some lovely bubbles) I can't now remember the wineries I visited.  If anyone has favourite ones in the Napa or Sonoma Valleys it would be good to know about them.

  1. Napa, Sedona, Dry Creek, Russian River Valley - that whole area is one of our favorite places to visit. Just lovely and you get to test out some really good wine!
