Before
getting on to the new collection of Books
You Loved, here are some that caught my eye from last month:
The
Perfume Collector by
Kathleen Tessaro was reviewed by guiltless
reading. Aloi said 'This is a
gorgeous book all around. Historical fiction buff, you'll be immersed in 1920s
New York and 1950s Paris. Sensualist, you'll revel in the descriptions of
scents and their intimate power to transport you in time and place. Story
lover, you'll discover how the lives of these seemingly totally different women
are entwined. A story to savour languidly.'
The
Lost Art of Mixing by
Erica Bauermeister was reviewed by Chaos Theory. Courtney said 'Food,
friendship, and love go hand-in-hand so often and that's exactly what
Bauermeister delivers in this novel'
The
Husband's Secret by
Liane Moriarty was reviewed by Silver's Reviews. Elizabeth said that the book 'is
an excellent read that will keep you pondering life, pondering the decisions we
make, and thinking about the secrets most of us have.'
Jane
Eyre by Charlotte Bronte was reviewed by The
Yellow-Haired Reviewer. Jessica said
that it 'is my favourite
book. Jane is an excellent role model, and as we watch her difficult life
unfold, we cannot help but admire her strength, dignity and wisdom.'
Old
Friends and New Fancies
by Sybil G Brinton was the very first Jane Austen sequel. It was reviewed by Diary of an Eccentric. Anna
said 'Sybil G. Brinton
manages to believably bring together characters from all six of Austen’s novels
to create happily-ever-afters for several secondary characters.'
The
Tudor Conspiracy by
CW Gortner was reviewed by Enchanted by
Josephine. The review said 'This book will
leave you totally satisfied but with a lingering need to read more.'
If
you would like to see the books in last month's collection, just click through
to the original
post or the Pinboard
I made for them. There are lots of books
there to suit many different tastes.
Now on to the new collection. Linking your post in is easy. Just put your name and the name of the book into the first Mr Linky box and paste the
url for your post into the second one.
There
are no rules for this link up. It just
has to be a post about a book you loved! You don't have to grab a button (I
don't have one for BYL anyway!) and you don't have to visit a specific number
of other links.
If
you would like to check out some of the other books, you might like to go to
this Pinboard I have made up for them. It will let you see the links at a glance and
should help you to decide which ones to visit.
Great collection. I read One Tiny Lie back in June and LOVED it. I recently listened to it on audio and it reminded me of how fabulous I think it is.
ReplyDeleteI have read two absolutely amazing books and I think anyone should read them. I linked both so you can see my reviews; I loved both and cannot wait for the next 4. It's fantasy and magic but it's so well written it might just be for anyone to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Hi, posted about my Sept reads. Year is going by way tooo fast for me!

What if the man you love lives in another century?
ReplyDeleteSome months this is really hard, this time it was no problem at all, my favourite book was The Thread by Victoria Hislop. Wonderful story.
ReplyDeleteMarianne from Let's Read
I'm always finding new books that I love - but I linked up an older one that deserves to be better known :)
ReplyDeleteJane Eyre is one of my favorite classics, too.
ReplyDeleteJane eyre is a really good book
ReplyDeleteHaven't read any of those choices, but have had Jane Eyre on my pile for a long time, maybe I should get on with it! :D
ReplyDeleteMine also has a giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThis is great, what a wonderful idea and so many books to explore. Thank you for hosting this.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun meme - thanks for contacting me!
ReplyDeleteI had so many I liked this last month! I might have to link more than one book.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea and the collection of books!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book that I've read in the last month is How the Light Gets In by Louise Penny. It is her ninth book in her Armand Gamache mystery series. It is a lovely book, as all of the books in the series are. Newcomers, though, should really read the series from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteI put up Elusive Hope by MaryLu Tyndall. :)
ReplyDeleteCarole,
ReplyDeleteThanks, as usual, for this forum. I listed two books this month, my most recent reads.
Regards.
Thanks for inviting me this month. I am number 47
ReplyDeleteHi Carole, just linked 'False Dawn" by Edith Wharton (no. 50)& thanks for the invite.
ReplyDeleteI have linked up 2 books this month both by Australian authors - Man Vs Child is a bio by a comedian about couples having kids and him being left behind. Light Between Oceans is a heart wrenching drama about a baby and 2 mothers. Thanks for hosting :)
ReplyDeleteThis post is great, so many terrific books. Thanks for inviting me to contribute. :-)

Just finished reading Still Life by A.S.Byatt. Loved it. A little time back, I finished Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro at one sitting.
ReplyDeleteI have written down several good tips from your listing here! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHello again, Carole! :) I love coming here every month and seeing the books that everyone links up. As for me, I've been reading some really great books, and at least two are in the running for my 'Best Book of the Month'. I'll be back later on in the month and will link up my choice - see you then! :)
ReplyDeleteCarole, I've added a link for a book I read recently that I found quite terrific!
ReplyDeleteI need to take a look at least some of the books that others chose. Thanks for hosting this. :)
Thanks for the mention Carole, I really hope you get a copy of The Perfume Collector :)
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, Carole. I mucked up on #78. Got it right on #79, but can't figure out how to nix my error. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting this wonderful community of readers!
Julie
I'm a bit late to the party this month. Ice Road is a family saga set in Soviet Leningrad, it's brutal but unforgettable.
ReplyDeleteThanks, as always for hosting this!

I first read Whispers by Belva Plain back in September 2010. Since then, I've read this book two more times - finishing it last night (Wednesday, September 25th) for the third time.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Carole! See you next month! :)
Hello again, Carole,
ReplyDeleteI've just posted my actual review of Whispers by Belva Plain from September of 2010, if anyone wants to know about my original review.
