Food on Friday: Melons

 ON

Hey, hey it's Friday!well in New Zealand it is anyway!  The theme for Food on Friday is Melon – all sorts of melons including watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, bitter melon etc etc.

Melons go well with:

Crab
Fortified wine
Glace ginger
Grapes
Ground ginger
Ham
Late-picked wine
Lemons
Mint
Oranges
Pears
Prawns
Raspberries
Roasted duck
Lobster or crayfish
Rum
Smoked chicken
Strawberries

As the links come in I will be pinning them to this Pinboard. This will help you to choose which of the dishes to check out further.

To link in, just put your name and the name of the dish into the first Mr Linky box and paste the url for your post into the second.  No need to leave a comment unless you would like to.

I don't have a specific button for Food on Friday – and don't know how to make one, sorry!  A blog friend did donate me a blog button which you can find on my contact page.

Looking forward to seeing all your melony goodness.

  2. Ok, I have one and only one recipe that includes melon. It calls for watermelon but I ended up substituting a cantaloupe! It's actually called Sticky Kicking Chicken (delicious) with a Watermelon Salad. Enjoy! It links to Jamie Oliver's original recipe, plus a youtube video of the episode of the 15 Minute Meals show in which he makes said recipe. :)
