Everyone
should go to Las Vegas at least once in their life if they can. Not for the casinos, necessarily – although
it is a bit startling to see slot machines all around in the airport!
But
it is like a fantasy land that has been built out in the middle of a big empty
country. Amazing.
I
stayed at the Mirage when I was there – and their attraction was white tigers –
just like any old 5 star hotel - not!
Close by Treasure Island had its regular re-enactments (think Miss
Congeniality – or was it the sequel?) and at Caesar's Palace I saw young people
dressed up as Romans hopping up onto slot machines to declaim – and there
wasn't a smile on their face.
And
it's a good jumping off point for going to the Grand Canyon as well.
It
is hot so the fine mist sprays they had at pool side were a bit of a life
saver.
I agree.. everyone needs to go once. People love it or hate it. No middle ground I don't think!!

I've been once. That was enough. But my sisters and several friends go there often!! It IS an experience!
ReplyDeleteSo - did you have fun? Are you there now?
I agree with you, everyone should go at least once just to look at the Architecture of the Hotels~ My husband and I got married there almost 17 years ago:) We went back on our 15 year Anniversary~ Lynn @ Turnips 2 Tangerines
ReplyDeleteI stayed at the Treasure Island Mirage back in the 90's - a trade show for the company I worked for. Amazing city and it's grown and changed so much since I was there.
