Sir Murray Halberg



Sir Murray Halberg was born on 7 July 1933.  He was a New Zealand athlete who won a gold medal at the 1960 Olympics in Rome.  He later founded the Halberg Trust which helps children with disabilities.  He is a member of the Order of New Zealand and his name is on the annual Halberg Awards which honour New Zealand sportsmen and women and teams.
