Hey Jude – The Beatles

Hey Jude was written by Paul McCartney in honour of John Lennon’s son Julian.  It was a recognition of the impact on him of John taking up with Yoko Ono.  There are some who say it was also about his emergent relationship with Linda Eastman.  It was released in 1968.  It was over 7 minutes long – the only other track at that sort of length around that time was MacArthur Park.
